Biometric registration started later than the officially stipulated 0700 hrs in about 20 per cent of Hohoe-North Constituency due to challenges associated with the distribution of materials.
The situation was however normalised owing to the diligence of the registration team including the Electoral Commission and the Hohoe Municipal Assembly commandeering additional fleets of vehicles.
Mr Kwabena Karikari, Municipal Electoral Officer told the GNA that “but for the delay, all is well.”
He said currently technicians were servicing some standby generators for distribution to serve as backups for sustaining uninterrupted power supply.
Numerous long queues could be spotted by the GNA in some registration centres.
At the E. P Primary/JHS the exercise was progressing sturdily with 10 applicants completing their registration at 0800 hrs.
The turn-around time per applicant which was about 10 minutes in the first-three people reduced thereafter to between six and five minutes.
Mr Wilberforce Drai, polling agent said the biometric machines started slowly but picked up after the system became heated up.**
