Bill Gates lauds Ghana’s immunization system

The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates says he is looking at the possibility of supporting health development and agriculture in Ghana.

The world renowned philanthropist is expected to inspect some projects of “The Bill and Melinda Gate’s Foundation on his first private visit to Ghana.

At a meeting with President Mahama at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, the second richest man in the world said he is impressed with Ghana’s development in the immunization of Tuberculosis and other related diseases.

“I came particularly to learn about the Ghanaian health system and the great work it does with immunizing the children and it has also trained people very well and also support work in agriculture,” he added.

For his part, President Mahama said Ghana is grateful for the support it has received from the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation over the years.

He noted that government is also looking forward to collaborating with the foundation on maternal mortality.
