Bikes for Ghana

Got an old bike you’re going to throw out? Give it to Bike Works, a community bike shop in Columbia City, which is shipping bikes to villagers in Ghana, who use them to sell wares, collect water and travel to work.

Bike Works plans to send 450 two-wheelers and already has 200. Mountain bikes are particularly appreciated, but any are welcome. Donate through Sept. 18 at their shop in Columbia City, 3709 S. Ferdinand St., during store hours.

Donations are tax deductible. For information, call 206-725-9408 or see www.bikeworks.org
