Biker smashed to death

A 36-year-old carpenter, Thomas Maley from Abesim, a suburb of Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region, on Monday morning met his untimely death after his motorcycle was crashed by a tipper truck.

The body of the deceased was retrieved from the rear tyres of the MAN diesel truck.

The accident, which happened at 8:45 during rush hours, caused vehicular congestion on the Sunyani-Abesim road.

Onlookers and passersby could not help but exclaim.

The second in command of the Sunyani Municipal MTTD, ASP David Nyauah, who supervised his men to convey the body to the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital, told DAILY GUIDE that Maley was on Haojin Motorbike with the registration number BA1631W but stopped at Alaska Junction in order to join the main lane Sunyani to Abesim road.

The driver of the MAN diesel tipper truck with the registration number GT 7031-14 from the Sunyani part of the main road suddenly knock down the deceased, according to reports.

The truck run over the rider’s head killing him instantly.

The body has been deposited at the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital for autopsy while police investigation continues.

The driver of the truck, however, reported himself to the police and was detained to help in investigations.
