Bibiani NPP cautions drivers

The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western region, has cautioned drivers plying the Bibiani-Kumasi road to be extra cautious to reduce the spate of accidents.

A statement signed by Mr Philip Nuako, the constituency chairman, said the party had observed with great concern the rampant accidents some of which were very fatal on the Bibiani-Kumasi road in recent times.

It said innocent lives were lost and mentioned in particular the recent accident involving a mini bus and an articulated truck in which about 16 people died.

The statement attributed these accidents to recklessness, drunkenness, speeding, unnecessary overtaking and poor maintenance of vehicles and called on drivers to spare passengers their lives by being very careful especially as Christmas got closer.
