Better Ghana Youth Caravan arrives in W/R

Juabeso (W/R), Oct. 7 GNA – Mr. Solomon Fuachie, the District Chief Executive for Juabeso, has urged the youth to embrace government’s youth development agenda to enable them to become productive and responsible citizens.

He made the call when welcoming the Better Ghana Youth Caravan at Juabeso on Wednesday.

The Caravan Project, which is under the auspices of the National Youth Authority (NYA), is on its seventh-leg of a nationwide tour to disseminate the tenets of the National Youth Policy.

Mr. Fuachie, who received the Youth Caravan from Mr. Philip Cambart, a representative of the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council on behalf of the chiefs, people and youth of Western Region, said he was optimistic that the Youth Development Landscape under the Better Ghana Agenda would ensure that the Ghanaian youths were brought into mainstream national economic and social development.

Ahaji Nana Kwesi Asante II, Chief of Juabeso-Nkwanta, admonished the youths to eschew negative attitude and behaviours that would inhibit their role as future leaders of the country.

He also advised them to take up Agriculture and it related business opportunities as part of national wealth creation and to take advantage of job opportunities and entrepreneurial development.

Mr. Emmanuel Papa Assan, the Western Regional Director of the NYA, announced that the Region had adapted five of the 19 priority areas of the National Youth Policy, namely youth sexual health, employment, mentorship, governance and democracy, patriotism and volunteerism.

He was hopeful that the Better Ghana Youth Caravan Project would be accorded the utmost support by the Youth and People of Western Region as had been manifested in the previous regions where the Caravan had trekked
