‘Better Ghana thoughts keep me awake’

President John Mahama has said if anything keeps him awake at night, it is how to improve the country.

“Sometimes I call a Minister at 2am, and when they come, sometimes I forget what I wanted to tell them. But if I do remember, then I tell them to either pay attention to this or to that,” he said at a press conference in Accra Tuesday January 12, 2016, in response to a question about what things normally keep him awake at night.

“But God has blessed me with sleep. I am a good sleeper. I don’t sleep much. I sleep short hours, but when I fall on the bed I go off like a light,” he added.

Mr Mahama said if he is awake at night, then he is thinking of a way to make the country a better place.

“So, in the night, sometimes, you just lie and think about the things, the policies that you are implementing, how you can improve those policies, so that they affect the people in a much better way and improve the quality of their lives,” he said.
