Best poultry farmer outdoors award

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), March 21, GNA – Mr Adamah Musah, 2006 National Best Poultry Farmer, has outdoored his prize of a new TATA 207 pickup vehicle at a brief ceremony attended by Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang-Badu II, President of Dormaa Traditional Council and Squadron Leader Ben Anane Asamoah (rtd), Dormaa District Chief Executive, at Dormaa-Ahenkro. Mr Musah, a prominent poultry farmer, won the accolade at last year’s National Farmers’ Day held at Nkawie in Ashanti Region. At the palace, Osagyefo Agyemang-Badu commended the Farmer for the joy and honour he had brought to the agricultural sector in the District.

The Omanhene called for a minute’s silence in memory of the award winner’s late father, Nana Kwabena Musah, who started the Unity Poultry Farms, which has been expanded into four large poultry farms in Ghana and one in Cote d’Ivoire. Osagyefo Agyeman-Badu presented documents for a four-hectare plot of land, near Dormaa-Ahenkro in contribution to the growth and expansion of the Company’s business. The award winner owns Adama Musah Farms, which has three large poultry farms, each having more than 30,000 birds and a total workforce of 76.

“What struck me most about you winning the award was your relatively tender age at a time that the Government has identified youth employment as key contributor to poverty reduction and improved standard of living”, the Omanhene said.

At the Chief Executive’s Office, the jubilant award winner expressed gratitude to the District Assembly and staff of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the honour done to him. In a symbolic presentation of the car’s key to the award winner, Squadron Leader Asamoah commended him for his diligence and lauded the Ghana Agro Food Company’s decision to sponsor the Best Poultry Farmer’s Award. Mr Musah paid glowing tribute to all especially his workers, who contributed in diverse ways to make the award possible.
