Bernard Mornah contends PNC’s by-election score

Mr Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has contended his party’s result in Tuesday’s by-election in the Talensi Constituency of the Upper East Region and called for a recount of the PNC’s votes, particularly in areas where it recorded losses.

Mr Mornah who was returning officer at the polls, said the Electoral Commission had made a deliberate attempt to pull down his party, alleging further that areas where the party lost recorded many rejected ballots.

He added that it had been observed in previous elections that rejected votes were often the reason for his party’s losses.

He said the PNC stood to perform better than NPP if it had 20 more votes in Tuesday’s poll, but that most of the ballots were rejected.
