Berekum NGO assists the needy

Berekum (B/A), May 4, GNA – Evangelist Paul Osei Agyemang, Director of Remnant Development and Relief Organisation a Berekum-based NGO in Brong-Ahafo on Wednesday appealed to the Government to help ease the socio-economic plight of the poor.

He urged the private sector, religious bodies and philanthropists to assist the disadvantaged to lead meaningful lives.

Evangelist Agyemang made the appeal after he had presented 32 wheel and sophisticated chairs, gymnastic machines, second hand clothing, reading spectacles and typewriters, all estimated at 420 million cedis to individuals and selected institutions at Berekum.

He said the gesture was in response to the biblical exhortation to Christians to be sympathetic to widows, orphans and the needy, saying the NGO was established in 1989 to assist the disadvantaged. Evangelist Agyemang said the organization had at various times supported individuals and institutions in the Region and expressed the hope that it would extend the gesture to other parts of the country.
