The Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency in the Bono Region, Hon. Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh has rolled out a campaign to combat against drug addiction within the Berekum and its environment.
At the celebration to launch HESAK foundation, the occasion was specially coincided with the birthday of the MP to ensure the youth who are into drugs hiding in ghettos will be integrated and brought back to society through this foundation by way of skills training and job creation offers.
Hon. Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, speaking at the event, explained that a lot of youth in Berekum are into drug abuse, which he said, as a member of Parliament, can not sit there for the youth to be destroyed who are the future for the next generation.
He added that he would collaborate and partner with the health personal in the various facilities to support the foundation to work on the youth who are into hard drugs to take them out of the ghettos.
He finally called for the support of everyone with financial or material support to aid the foundation to reach out the need in society, especially those addicted to drugs.
On this part of the Education Director of Berekum East Municipal Directorate, Mr. David Owusu Ansah added that the directorate will do all that they can support HESAK Foundation so that drug addiction will be reduced among the youth in Berekum.
