Amoamang (Ash), July 23, GNA- Beposo Local Authority Primary School emerged the overall champions in a quiz competition organised to test the aptitude of pupils in Science and Mathematics.

Out of the 12 competing primary schools from the Beposo Education Circuit in the Sekyere West district, Beposo L/A primary scored 38 points for the first position after five rounds of the competition. For their prize, they took home 1.2 million cedis donated by Yesegya Enterprise, dealers in auto windscreens and side mirrors and organisers of the competition.

Nkwabirim Salvation Army primary followed second with 37 points and received 250,000 cedis and Beposo Presbyterian primary took the third position with 36 points and had a set of jerseys while Ankamadoa Catholic primary followed at the fourth position with 35 points and received a football.

Master James Kwakye of Ankamadoa Catholic Primary emerged the overall best pupil among the 38 contestants and Rita Bonna of Beposo Nana Boamah Kwabi Primary was the best female participant.

Mr Kwame Asamoah Senyah, Proprietor of Yesegya Enterprise and a citizen of Amoamang, noted that education was the key to success in every human endeavour and was, therefore, concerned with education in the rural areas.

It is for this reason, he said, that he had since 1999 being sponsoring the education of the best three pupils in each class of the Amoamang L/A Primary School and pledged to sustain the competition. Mr Martin Owusu-Mensah, the Sekyere West District Director of Education, commended Mr Senyah for his keen interest in the education of pupils in the town and hoped that the spirit would be sustained.
