Beposo appeals for completion of CHIP Compound

The chiefs and people of Beposo near Sekondi in the Western Region have appealed to government to complete the CHIP Zone Compound Medical Centre it initiated for the area about three years ago.

Mr Benjamin Kojo Kwarteng, member of the Beposo Town Development Committee (TDC) made the appeal through the GNA at Beposo at the weekend.

He recounted that work on the project started in 2001, but has been abandoned without any explanation to the people.

Mr Kwarteng said the project, when completed, will serve over 80,000 people, mostly farmers operating in and around Beposo.

According to him the absence of a health Post at Beposo to cater for the health needs of thousand of cocoa, food crops and other cash crops producers in the area, was creating a big challenge to the residents.

He said a number of appeals to government to ensure the resumption of work on the project is yet to receive attention.

Mr Kwarteng said the situation has compelled sick people from Beposo and the surrounding farming communities, to always travel long distances to Shama and Sekondi to seek medical attention.

He said the people are ready to provide communal labour to ensure the early completion of the project.
