Benso community urged to embrace peace and unity

The Omanhene of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area,Osagyefo Dr. Kwamena Enimil VI, on Tuesday urged the people of Benso to embrace peace and unity for the community to progress this year.

He said the community cannot achieve any meaningful development without peace and unity, which are essential for progress and development.

Osagyefo Enimil who is also the President of the Western Region House of Chiefs was speaking at a thanksgiving service for the peaceful settlement of a longstanding dispute between the Asumankwa royal families at Benso.

The Omanhene who helped settled the 40-year old dispute in September last year, asked the people to do all that they could to ensure that the settlement is sustained and to bury their differences.

The event was under the theme: “There is strength in Unity”.

The Chief of Benso, Nana Kwabena Amoah, expressed profound joy at the peaceful settlement of the dispute.

He said that the disunity among the people had affected the development of the area and expressed the hope that the settlement of the dispute will pave the way for the development of the area.

Nana Amoah also used the occasion to appeal to government to rehabilitate the bad roads in the area.
