Begoro Council of Churches to set up fund

Begoro (E/R), July 21, GNA – The Begoro Local Council of Churches would soon establish a “needy fund”, at the Begoro Government Hospital, to support the health needs of the destitute.

Reverend Father Mate-Kodjo, the local Chairman, said it was part of the Council’s contribution towards the successful implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Rev.Fr Mate-Kodjo announced this when the Council donated essential commodities worth four million cedis to the medical staff of the Hospital to motivate them for hard work.

He commended the medical staff for their commitment to work. Rev Mate-Kodjo expressed regret about the brain drain of doctors and nurses and urged the staff to stay at home to contribute their quota to the health delivery system.

Dr Kofi Ablorh, Senior Medical Officer in charge of the Hospital thanked the Council for the gift, which he described as a morale booster.

He appealed to churches to help in the campaign against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
