Bees invade town; kill 80-yr-old woman

A swarm of marauding bees has invaded Assin Enyiresi, a community in the Assin South District in the Central region stinging an 80-year-old woman to death.

The deceased, Abena Kesewaa died on the spot from the attack, when the angry and suspected hungry bees let loose on residents indiscriminately in the town.

At least 700 locals also suffered the attack along with the deceased.

The bees launched the attack Friday, when the granny allegedly opened her local eatery for business.

Reports say it took the intervention of the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) who upon arrival sprayed the bees to disperse them.

Residents who were plunged into a state of shock are said to have fled the town to seek succor from adjoining towns.
