Beef-up security in Tolon – MP-Elect

Tamale, Dec. 25, GNA- Mr Abdul-Razak A. Umar, NDC Member of Parliament- Elect (MP-Elect) for the Tolon constituency in the Northern Region has appealed to the security agencies to beef up their security operations in his constituency during the Presidential Election Runoff on December 28.

The MP-Elect, who was addressing a press conference in Tamale on Tuesday, said he was making the appeal due to certain electoral irregularities and lapses that characterized the 7 December general election in the constituency.

Mr Umar said during the 7 December 7 elections, polling agents of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency were bared from monitoring the elections at their designated polling centres within the Tolon and Gbrumani Traditional areas of the Tolon constituency. He said thugs prevented some NDC party agents from exercising their legitimate duty of representing the NDC in the polling centres within Tolon and Gbrumani Traditional areas.
