Bedbugs invade Aggrey SHS; Headmaster cries for help

Authorities at the Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School in the Central region are complaining about bedbugs invasion in the school.

The bedbugs, according to the headmaster of the school, Rev. Franklin Buadu, is impeding academic work as students are denied good sleep in the night in order to focus in class for lessons.

Speaking in Cape Coast on the occasion of the school’s annual celebrations, Rev. Buadu indicated that the school is growing frustrated with the bedbugs invasion as earlier attempts to root out the menace has failed to yield any results.

Students, he added might have brought the disease from their various homes as the school was able to stop the bedbug invasion in the previous academic year. He is therefore calling on health experts and all well-meaning Ghanaians to help deal with the bedbugs invasion so as not to hamper the health of the students.

“The school was able to control the bedbugs infestation in May 2016…however on the return of students to school in September 2016 the bedbugs resurfaced suggesting that some of the students bring the bedbugs from their homes,” Rev. Buadu said.
