BECE takes off successfully in Birim South

Akyem Oda (E/R), April 23, GNA – The Basic Examination Certificate Examination (BECE) took off successfully in the Birim South District on Monday at 0930 hours at most centres.

At the Attafuah Secondary/Technical School at Akyem Oda where 591 students from 21 schools were writing the first paper in English Language, Mrs Dinah Akuamoah Boateng, the Examination Co-ordinator told the GNA that seven candidates out of the number were absent. Mrs Akuamoah Boateng who could not assign reasons for the failure of the students to turn up for the examination said they included three boys and four girls.

According to her all the examination materials arrived on time. At the Saint Francis Secondary/ Technical School at Akyem Oda, six out of the 740 candidates who were supposed to write the English paper were absent.

Mr Dominic Acquah, Co-ordinator, said no difficulties were encountered adding that candidates taking part in the examinations were from 20 schools.
