Beautician in court for stabbing rival

A Beautician, Ruth Tagoe, was on Tuesday put before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stabbing a student in the left arm at Agege in Accra.

Ruth is said to have stabbed the complainant Beatrice Abbey, on seeing her on her (RUTH’s) boyfriend’s bed.

Charged with causing harm, Ruth has pleaded not guilty and the court presided over by Ms. Sedina Agbemava admitted her to bail in the sum of Ghc5,000 cedis with three sureties, one to be a public servant earning Ghc12,000 cedis per annum.

She is expected to reappear on June 12.

Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court that the complainant lives with her elder brother at Korle Gonno, Accra while the accused person also resides at Shiabu, near Dansoman.

On August 12, last year, at about 12:14 hours, Ruth went to her boyfriend’s (Nicolas Acquah’s ) room at Agege and met Beatrice sleeping on Nicolas’s bed.

A misunderstanding ensued between Ruth and Beatrice and without any provocation, Ruth took a jug, broke it and stabbed Beatrice several times on her left arm.

Beatrice lodged a complaint with the Police at Dansoman where a medical form was issued to her for treatment, and the Police later arrested Ruth.
