Be cautious in implementing all-inclusive gov’t – K.B. Asante urges Mahama

Elderly statesman K.B. Asante has cautioned President Mahama in his quest to have an all-inclusive government.

A stalwart of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Ladi Nylander, had suggested that the President should involve the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in his administration in fulfillment of his electoral promises.

It follows similar calls by some prominent clergymen for an all-inclusive government.

But retired diplomat K.B. Asante says the President must tread cautiously because “putting people of all opinions into a government will be disastrous for this country.”

In an interview with XYZ News, Mr Asante said “the government should appoint people who believe in [its] policies, objectives and ideologies into the government. Only government people should go in.”

He however added that it is essential to ensure that other vital positions are reserved for people of other political persuasions so as to bring all hands on deck and curb potential governance disaster.
