Be careful with greedy politicians – Youth told

The youth have been advised not to allow politicians to take advantage of their vulnerability to engage in violent activities during and after the November polls.

He said disgruntled politicians in their quest to win political power would soon start knocking on their doors to engage them to serve in their parochial interests.

Mr Emmanuel S. Martey, the Effutu Municipal Co-ordinator of the National Youth Authority, said this when he presented a Certificate of Registration to the “Kassena-Bia-Dezeemdaani Tigsim”, a Winneba based Kassen-Nankana Youth Association.

The Youth co-ordinator called on all youth organizations to register with the Authority as without this, their existence would be considered illegal.

This is because their motive for existence would not be known by the state, adding that the activities of youth organizations need to be scrutinized to ensure that the society derives the maximum benefit from them.

Mr Martey urged the Association to include in their programme a sensitization campaign on the negative effects of child abuse, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.

Mr Gabriel Samari, the Chairman of the Association, said providing financial support to needy members, is part of their aims and objectives.
