Bawumia storms Northern Ghana

The New Patriotic Party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will begin his first leg tour of the northern region on April 13.

Both Dr. Bawumia and the NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Akuffo Addo are expected to storm Tamale on that day.

The tour, according to the party is to offer Dr. Bawumia the opportunity to join the people in the north to show appreciation to the NPP for retaining him as Nana Addo’s running mate.

There are doubts over Dr. Bawumia’s ability to amass votes for the NPP in the north and the visit aims at marketing him to the electorate.

The Northern Regional NPP Secretary, Dr. Clifford Braimah gave highlights of Dr. Bawumia’s scheduled visit.

“We have an official programme for the visit of the running mate and the flagbearer who are both coming together on April 13; when they get into town we will have a procession through the principal streets in Tamale and later in the afternoon we will drive to Nalerigu to present the running mate to Nayiri for his blessing.”

He disclosed, “On April 14 at the Tamale Jubilee Park we are going to have a national Muslim prayer where all the denomination of the Muslim sects will be around for us to recite the Qur’an to pray for peaceful registration, elections and also transition.”**
