Bawumia is an ‘over hyped’ lying economist – Adongo

Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo has lambasted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his lack of understanding of the economy.

The legislator further accused the Vice President of consistently peddling falsehood about the state of the economy.

According to him, the recent failed attempt by government to meet its target for the first tranche of the energy bond was an indication of the inability of the economic management team, led by the Vice President to manage the economy adequately.

Mr. Adongo said, although the second gentleman of the land is touted as a renowned economist, he has no clue to managing the economy well.

He described Dr. Bawumia as ‘’over hyped’’ economist who churn out lies about the state of Ghana’s economy.

”…You people have to tell Dr. Bawumia one thing; he learnt economics at O’level is that not it? Economics at A ‘level, first degree, masters, PhD, came and work at the Central Bank as a central banker [but] he still doesn’t understand the economy and talks about GPS and insult our former president, who himself, is the man credited for the transformation in the telecom and ICT centre as the Minister of Communications.

So today, we are dealing with an economy managed by an over hyped economic team.

The main striker, Dr Bawumia can’t even score half a goal and when you talk, they will give you CVs…’’

Isaac Adongo added that despite being able to raise $2.25 billion bond in hours in April on the back of the goodwill built up the previous NDC government, the subsequent attempts have failed because of waning investor confidence.
