Bawumia consoles family of slain Lapaz cop

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has visited the family of the late No. 49195 General Constable Daniel Owusu to sympathize with them.

He visited the family on Tuesday 25th July 2017, together with the Minister for the Interior Ambrose Dery and the Inspector-General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu.

Dr Bawumia sent warm greetings from the President to the family and assured them of government support.

Also accompanying the team was the Director-General in charge of Police Officers’ Welfare, COP/Mr. Prosper Agblor; ACP/Mr. Owusu Boateng (Deputy Accra Regional Commander), ACP/Mrs. Habiba Twumasi Sarpong of the Community Policing Unit and ACP/Mr. David Eklu Director-General in charge of the Public Affairs Directorate.

It would be recalled that the deceased was shot by some criminals at Lapaz on Thursday 13, July 2017 whilst on patrol duties.
