Bawku-Naba mourns Late President Mills

The Bawku Naba, Zug-Raan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, on Friday expressed shock at the sudden demise of the Late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

The chief in a statement said the news of the death of the President reached him and his chiefs in the Kusasi Traditional Area with deep sorrow and shock, leaving the people in a state of devastation, as they mourn the late president.

“After recovering from the initial shock, I find it expedient to express our condolences to the Government and people of Ghana, as well as the bereaved family of the late President,” he said.

He urged all Ghanaians to accept the incident as the will of God and endeavor to rise up courageously to keep on with the struggle, to build a better Ghana and the legacy of the late President.

He called on all to use the death of the President to forge unity as Ghanaians with a common destiny devoid of violence and petty hatred.

“Let us demonstrate in practical terms that though the ‘mother hen’ may be taken away we the ‘chickens’ are matured enough to get along successfully, with the traditional rulers playing a significant role in our governance system,” he entreated, calling on the Almighty God to give Ghanaians strength, to forge ahead in unity and prosperity.

The late President died at the 37 Military Hospital Tuesday 24th July while receiving medical attention, after being taken ill a few hours earlier.
