Barclays Bank makes presentation to Koforidua Regional Hospital

Koforidua, July 01, GNA – Staff of the Koforidua Branch of Barclays Bank on Friday helped in mobbing the Children’s Ward of the Koforidua Regional Hospital and presented items estimated at six million cedis to the ward. The items were 20 students mattress, six cartons of ideal milk, one carton of Milo, one mini-bag of sugar, three gallons of disinfectants, some oranges and pineapples.

Presenting the items Mr Godson Awortwe-Dadson, Retail Manager of the Bank, said funds for the items were raised through the contributions of staff.

Mr Lucio Dery, the Administrator of Koforidua Regional Hospital, said in an effort to ensure regular flow of water, the hospital has used its internally generated funds to dig two mechanized boreholes. He said the hospital would need one more mechanized borehole to be able to provide water for 24 hours.

Mr Dery appealed to Barclays Bank to consider that project when they are planning projects for communities. He said the hospital was also wants to chang its ambulance that is 10 years old and appealed to corporate bodies and citizens of the Eastern Region both in and outside the country to assist the hospital to acquire one.
