Barclays and Standard Chartered banks assist Orphanage

Awutu Ofankor (C/R), June 8, GNA- A 60-bed hostel facility financed by Barclays Bank Ghana has been handed over to the Good Shepherd Orphanage at Awutu Ofankor. Mr Twum Barima Antwi, Operations Officer of the Bank who handed over the keys to the directors of the Orphanage, said the request was made six years ago to the bank for assistance by authorities of the Home. He expressed the hope that the facility would help solve some of the accommodation problems facing the orphanage. Standard Chartered Bank has also presented items worth 7,000 to the Orphanage.

The items include three bags of flour, a bag of rice, a bag of beans, used and new clothing, detergents, five buckets paints and toilet rolls. Receiving the keys to the building and the items Bishop Kweku Addai, Executive Director of the Orphanage, commended the two financial institutions for the donation. He appealed to individuals, philanthropists, corporate institutions and other bodies to assist the orphanage.
