Baptist School Complex and Orphanage gets assistance

Suhum (E/R), June 10, GNA – A charitable organization based in the US, Students Bridging Information Gab (SBIG), on Wednesday donated 16 computers and their accessories and books to the Baptist School Complex (BAPSCO) and Orphanage at Trotor near Suhum. Making the donation the leader of the team, Mr Tom Killian, said the donation followed a request made by the director of the school to them for assistance.

He said his organization was ready to help the school and the orphanage to ensure that any child who finishes his or her basic education in the school becomes computer literate. Mr Killian said with that partnership, his organization would do all it could to bridge the information gab between their school children and that of BAPSCO.

Receiving the items the Director of the school, Reverend Victor Ofori Amoah, thanked the donors and said the main aim of the school was to make the place an ICT centre where children from the community and other surrounding areas could study.

He said the orphanage has 105 children out of the school population of 450.

Rev. Amoah appealed to non-governmental organizations, charitable organizations, government institutions and philanthropists to assist the school and the home to enable them take good care of the children.
