Baptist Medical Mission International offer free medical care

Tepa (Ash), March 26, GNA- The Baptist Medical Mission International (BMMI), a division of the Baptist Missionary Association of America has given free medical care to 1,057 patients at Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North district.

The 13-member medical team set up a special clinic at the Tepa community centre and for three days, offered free medical care and provided medicine to patients with different ailments including malaria, anaemia, hypertension, worms, waist and back pains. Speaking to newsmen, Mrs Margaret Lindsey, the Co-ordinator of the programme, said the team has treated over 21,000 patients since the programme started in 1996.

Mrs Lindsey attributed the frequent waist and back pains among Ghanaians to our lifestyle particularly the use of short brooms for sweeping, cutlasses and hoes for farming and the use of some kitchen tools which demand frequent bending over those items.
