Bantama Presbyterian Church to conduct health screening exercise

Kumasi, May 17, GNA – Bantama Peyer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Kumasi will conduct free health screening exercise for its members from June this year.

The six-month exercise which will be sponsored by the Church, in collaboration with some philanthropists, aims at improving the health status of the members.

Reverend Peter Kofi Nyarko, Minister in-charge of the Church, told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Thursday that diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, malaria and breast cancer will be treated. Reverend Nyarko advised Ghanaians to lead healthy lifestyles at all times adding that they should promptly attend hospitals for treatment of ailments rather than allowing them to degenerate into complications. Rev Nyarko appealed to church leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on health issues. “A healthy nation has the advantage of improving on her socio-economic gains,” he said.
