Bantama NDC congratulates Mills

Kumasi, May 6, GNA – The Bantama constituency executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the Vice-President, Professor John Atta Mills, on his endorsement as the presidential candidate of the party in the December general elections.

The message was contained in a statement issued in Kumasi on Saturday and signed by Mr Daniel Frempong, the constituency secretary of the party. The statement said Prof. Mills endorsement by acclamation as the flagbearer of the NDC, was a manifestation of the confidence the party had in him, as a result of the able and distinct leadership he had exhibited during his tenure of office as the Vice-President.

It noted that to take over from a charismatic, dynamic and energetic leader like President Jerry John Rawlings, one must possess very distinct qualities and that Prof. Mills, by his selfless and dedicated service to the nation, has proved to be just that type of person.

The statement affirmed the unflinching support and love of the NDC members of the Bantama constituency for Professor Mills as they have for President Rawlings. It said with Professor Mills as the flagbearer of the NDC, the battle in this year’s polls was almost over and all that remained now was for the rank and file of the party to unite and ensure an overwhelming electoral victory.

The statement called on all Ghanaians to vote massively for Professor Mills since he stands for peace and unity and “is truly a divine gift”, as declared by President Rawlings.
