Bansah confirmed as Director-General of Prisons

Accra, Jan. 13, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills, in consultation with the Council of State, has confirmed the Acting Director-General of Prisons, Mr Michael Kofi Bansah as the Director-General of Prisons.

This was contained in a statement dated January 5, 2012 and signed by Mr J.K. Bebaako Mensah, Secretary to the President.

A statement issued by Assistant Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) Courage Atsem, Chief Public Relations Officer of Ghana Prisons, copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra said Mr Bansah, until his appointment as the Acting Director-General of Prisons was the Director of Prisons in-charge of Operations.

Mr Bansah, a product of University of Ghana, Legon with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology in 1979 as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma
