BANK OF GHANA PRINTS SMALLER SIZES OF ?1,000, ?2,000, ?3,000

The Bank of Ghana will place in circulation Monday 13th October, new sizes of currency notes in the thousand, two thousand and five thousand cedi denominations currently in circulation. A statement from the Bank said these notes have reduced in size for easier handling. The statement said features of the reduced sizes are the same as those of the original sizes. All three denominations have security threads which weave in and out of the paper. It said the reduced sized bank notes will circulate along side the current bank notes of the same denominations. ?1,000 … 140 mm x 70 mm ?2,000 … 145 mm x 72.5 mm ?5,000 … 150 mm x 75 mm

The reduced sized bank notes will circulate alongside the current bank notes of the same denominations.
