Bank clerk interdicted for embezzlement

Gomoa Afransi (C/R), May 4, GNA – The Board of Directors of the Gomoa Ajumako Rural Bank has indefinitely suspended Mr Ernest Arhinful-Mensah, a clerk at its Agency at Gomoa Eshiem, for alleged embezzlement of funds.

Mr Kwesi Addison, a Member of the Board of the bank, said Mr Arhinful-Mensah had been reported to the Agona Swedru Divisional Crime Unit.

He said this when he addressed workers of the Gomoa East District after a six-hour health walk organised by bank at Gomoa Afransi as part of the activities marking May Day.

Workers drawn from Ghana Education Service, Ghana Police Service, Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Non-formal Division of the Ministry of Education and Gomoa East District Assembly participated. Mr Addison said management detected the embezzlement after the Internal Control Team carried out an audit and discovered that Mr Arhinful-Mensah has manipulated the ledger books.
