BAK district record 12 cholera cases in one month

Kuntanase (Ash), Dec 11, GNA – The Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District has, from November 6 to December 6, recorded 12 cholera cases. There is however no deaths recorded so far. Nine of the cases were recorded at Abono while the remaining three came from Adwuman and Donyina.

Briefing the GNA at Kuntanase at the weekend, Mr Reuben Osei Antwi, the District Health Information Officer, said all the cases were recorded in health facilities and were treated and discharged. Mr Antwi said as an emergency measure to control the spread of the disease, drains and refuse dumping sites in the Abono community, which had the highest incidence, had been sprayed with disinfectants. He said public health education on strict adherence to personal and environment practices have been stepped up.
