Bagre Dam spillage: Residents asked to relocate

Residents of the Northern and Upper West regions have been asked to relocate in view of the impending spillage from the Bagre dam.

Burkinabe authorities will spill excess water from the dam on Friday after days of heavy downpour.

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is spearheading the relocation of people in low lying areas.

Upper East Regional Minister Mark Woyongo in an interview with XYZ News said authorities are being proactive to avert any disaster.

“We had information from our embassy in Burkina Faso that they will be spilling the Bagre Dam on Friday so there is the need to sensitize our people especially those living in low lying areas”.
