Bad roads impede transportation of foodstuffs-Assemblyman

Sansama (B/A) May 26, GNA – Mr. Effah Moro, Assemblyman for Dagombaline Electoral Area in the Techiman Municipality has expressed grave concern about the plight of the farmers along Sansama, Blue Cross and Traa due to the bad nature of the Techiman-Sansama road. He said even though the road had been included in the government’s programme under the Urban Roads Department for construction of culverts and drainage system, farmers were facing serious problems in carting their foodstuffs to the marketing centres.

Mr. Effah Moro expressed these sentiments while interacting with farmers at Blue Cross, Sansama and Traa on government policies and programmes for the area.

He promised to work hard by conveying the problem to the appropriate authorities for the a speedy implementation of work by the contractors to whom it had been awarded under the urban roads department.

He asked the people to be patient since the roads had been awarded on contract, stressing that the Urban Roads Department was doing feasibility studies whilst sourcing funds for the commencement of work on the road network in the municipality.

Mr. Effah Moro advised the people to be wary of some unscrupulous people who were going around the area collecting monies for the rehabilitation of roads without the authority of the Municipal Assembly.
