Back govt with self-help spirit – DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa West, Mr. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has urged people in the community to assist the government to formulate policies and programmes to improve their livelihoods.
He said the government was committed to bring development to all communities and it was imperative that people mobilized their resources to supplement what the government was offering.
Mr. Aidoo-Mensah was addressing the chiefs and people of Gomoa Darmang as part of his visits to some communities in the district to acquaint himself with their problems.
The DCE was accompanied by some personnel of the Assembly, Health, and Education Directorates.
He assured them of the assembly’s preparedness to construct a Junior High School Block and also reshape the only road in the town linking the main road from Dawurampong to Apam Junction.
Mr. Aidoo-Mensah advised parents to take keen interest in the education of their children since it is the best legacy they could give to them and would also yield dividend for the whole society.
Miss Fatima Tweng, Disease Control Officer, said last year the Directorate recorded numerous cholera cases and out of the number the Gomoa Darmang reported 20 cases, which was not the best.
She advised the community members to stop buying food from road side vendors and cautioned them to desist from open defecation and also to wash their hands after attending to nature calls.
Nana Adoo Kwesi V, Omankradu for the area, commended the government and the assembly for providing with a poly tank and a bore hole.
The DCE later presented two Nylon sealing machines to people in Gomoa Kumasi who are into gari processing to use it in sealing their products.
