Sunyani (B/A) Dec. 8, GNA – The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Command has appealed to the general public for useful information to solve the murder of one Kwasi Yeboah, a native of Yamfo in Tano-North District of the region. Superintendent Mr. Eric Amoako, Brong-Ahafo Regional Crime Officer, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Wednesday, requested that “anyone with useful information should come forward to me” as investigations into the case was at the preliminary stage. He said four suspects who had been arrested in connection with the murder had now been remanded into prison custody by the Duayaw-Nkwanta District Magistrate Court to reappear on December 21, 2010. The suspects are; Evans Peprah Tabri, aged 58, a businessman from Odumase in Sunyani West District but resident in Sunyani, Gyamfi Kyeremeh, 45 years and a native of Yamfo, Kofi Kadie, a driver’s mate and Kujo Emmininbrah, a tractor driver, aged 22 and 32 respectively, who are non-natives, he added.
The Regional Crime Officer said on the morning of November 13, 2010 residents of Yamfo found the dead body of Yeboah lying at the outskirts of the town with stab wounds all over his body. Superintendent Amoako said the case was reported to the Police and after visiting the scene to do preliminary investigations, the body was removed to Saint John of God Catholic Hospital at Duayaw-Nkwanta. “That same day some residents of Yamfo arrested Kadie and Emmininbrah and handed them over to the Police that they were the culprits”, he said adding, based on intelligence reports the Police arrested Gyamfi and Tabri. The Crime officer disclosed that the body of Yeboah had since been buried after a post mortem examination by a qualified pathologist from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Meanwhile, Nana Ansah Adu Baah II, Paramount Chief of Yamfo earlier in another interview with the GNA, also made a similar appeal that anybody with vital clue on the murder should report to the Police or even the Yamfo Traditional Council.
He described the murder as “shocking and gruesome” since such a heinous crime had never been committed in the town. Nana Baah added that due to the incident, fear had so gripped the town that most people felt reluctant to go to their farms hence “we are prepared to assist the Police to unravel the mystery surrounding the murder”. 08 Dec.10
