B/A students union asks members to do away with negative practices

Sunyani (B/A), Aug 27, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Students Union (BASU) has appealed to the youth of the region to eschew negative practices that could help destabilise the nation. “We should not demean ourselves by allowing vices such as selfishness, greed, illicit use of drugs and unpatriotic thinking to reign amongst us”, the students said in a statement. The statement, signed by Mr. Anane Agyei, National President, congratulated Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Regional Minister, on his 40th birthday celebration and advised the youth to see him as a role model.

“Mr. Baffour-Awuah’s appointment as the regional minister at the age of 40 is a huge motivation and an honour to the youth of Ghana. It is a signal that the youth can be entrusted with any leadership role provided they conduct themselves in ways that would be in consonance with acceptable society norms”, the statement added. The statement appealed to “all sons and daughters” of the region to close their ranks, irrespective of political or religious background and assist the Regional Minister to bring the best out of the region”.
