B/A citizens donate to regional hospital

The Council of Brong-Ahafo Association of North America (COBANA) on Thursday presented 100 pieces of bed-sheets worth 1000 US Dollars to the Regional Hospital in Sunyani.

Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed gratitude to the association for the gesture and hoped it would continue helping the hospital.

Mr. Kwame Ntow Duku, Secretary of the Association, who made the presentation on behalf of his colleagues said membership of the Association was made up people who come from the Brong-Ahafo Region living in North America.

He said the Association, inaugurated three years ago, aims at contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

“We have so many things in mind for the general good of our dear region but since we cannot wait to get all those things assembled before we come out, we have decided to first donate these bed sheets and follow up with others in good time”, Mr. Duku assured.

Dr. Jones Techie, Acting Regional Medical Director of the hospital, expressed his appreciation to the Association.

He noted that the health facility lacked many facilities and urged the Association to continue assisting it for the benefit of the people.

Present at the ceremony were Mr. Kwasi Oppong Ababio, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sunyani, Mr. Asare Bediako, Administrator of the hospital and some members of staff of the hospital.**
