Ayorkor Botchway is Foreign Affairs Minister-Designate

President Nana Akufo-Addo has named Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway as Foreign Affairs Minister-Designate.

Mr Akufo-Addo made the announcement while interacting with a Chinese delegation that paid a courtesy call on him at the presidency on Monday, January 9.

Pointing at Ms Botchway to the Chinese delegation, Mr Akufo-Addo said: “the lady there is the one I’m wishing Parliament will approve as Foreign Minister.”

Mr Akufo-Addo, who officially took the reins of the country’s governance after being sworn in on Saturday has, in like manner, named a number of the people he intends working with.

Among them are Mr Alan Kyerematen – Trades and Industry Minister-Designate; Dr Owusu Akoto Afriyie – Agriculture; Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng – Science, Environment, Technology and Innovation Minister-Designate; Albert Kan-Dapaah – Minister of National Security-Designate and Mr Isaac Asiamah – Youth and Sports Minister-Designate.
