President of the Accra Institute of Technology, Professor Clement Dzidonu, has said Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, George Ayisi-Boateng, was forced to appologise for his unsavory remarks that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were his topmost priority.
Mr Ayisi-Boatneg retracted and apologised for the comments 72 hours after his statement was widely condemned by civil society organisations, the Minority and a section of the populace who were calling for his dismissal.
But commenting on this matter on TV3’s New Day Programme on Saturday November 4, Prof Dzidonu said : “The wise thing he should have done from the beginning was to say sorry and this matter would have died but he defended himself.
“Politicians do it all the time, they promise their people but that notwithstanding as soon as this came he should have apologised.
“This apology is a forced one, he didn’t do it out of his heart, he was told to do it, he was force to apologize.”
