Ayariga’s APC gets EC certification today

All People’s Congress (APC), a political party founded by 2012 Presidential Candidate Hassan Ayariga, is expected to be handed its final certificate of operation on Friday, April 22.

APC was provisionally certified by the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) in February, a few days after its formation.

Mr Ayariga established APC after losing the presidential primaries of the People’s National Convention (PNC) to former candidate Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama.

The maverick politician had accused PNC of giving him a raw deal in declaring the December results for Dr Mahama.

Mr Ayariga has announced that his party will target the youth of Ghana.

After securing his provisional certificate, Mr Ayariga insisted that his party is not an Nkrumahist party and will only go into an alliance with any other party that espouses Kwame Nkrumah’s ideology if APC does not win the 2016 elections.
