Ayariga stages ‘political comedy’ at Ashaiman

The All People’s Congress (APC) led by Hassan Ayariga last Saturday staged what could best be described as a political comedy at Ashaiman, where the party supposedly launched its constituency campaign.

The whole show began on the minds of many when the party slated 10am to begin the programme.

As at 3:30pm when journalists called at Mandela Park, the venue for the programme, only 32 people comprising 23 females and 10 males were present. The number began to reduce as some of the women had to leave for home to prepare food while the very few were waiting for the arrival of their presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga

A man who had run out of patience on his way home likened the gathering to basic school pupils going for inter-school football match as a lady in his company asked whether that can be considered a political party when this reporter inquired where they were going.

Around 4:30 when the presidential candidate, Dr. Hassan Ayariga and the parliamentary candidate for the area, Yakubu Musah arrived, the party had to bus about 70 people to the campaign grounds .

However, Dr. Ayariga rekindled hopes of the disappointed supporters that he will contest the elections come what may, premising his assurance on the fact that the reason for the EC disqualifying them cannot be blamed on the party.

He promised to contest and surprisingly win the elections to transform Ghana through what he termed all inclusive governance.

With the support of the gathering, Ayariga chanted, “No Ayariga, No Vote”
