Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly dissolved

Winneba, Sept 15, GNA – The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly has approved 1.5 million cedis as ex-gratia award for its members. The assembly would, in addition, organize an end of year awards night where the Assembly members will receive certificates and citations.

The Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr Kwesi Esserku, said this at a special meeting to dissolve the assembly. Mr Esserku said the Area and Urban council me mbers that deserve awards would also be presented while other assembly members, staff and heads of departments who have performed well would also be awarded. The Presiding Member said even though members of the assembly had worked hard, he was hopeful that they would work harder in future to assist the assembly to mobilize more resources.

“It is also my hope that all decisions taken by the out-going Assembly would be given the due attention by the next assembly.” The District Chief Executive, Mr. Solomon Abban-Quaye, expressed his gratitude to the assembly members for their contribution and support. 15 Sept 06
