Awutu-Bawjiase Orphanage acquires more land to expand its farms

Awutu-Bawjiase (C/R), Nov. 22, GNA – The Management of the Awutu-Bawjiase ‘Country-Side’ Orphanage have acquired 100 hectares of land for the expansion of its agricultural activities to enable it raise more funds for its operations.

The Orphanage, which won this year’s Awutu-Effutu-Senya District best farmer award, could now boast of large-scale poultry and grasscutter farm, livestock, food crops and vegetable production. The founder of the Orphanage, Mrs. Emma Boafo, told the Ghana News Agency at Awutu-Bawjiase on Sunday that her outfit would cultivate 10 hectares each of citrus, mango and oil palm in addition to their existing farms.

They are also dig fishponds to produce fish and also undertake mushroom production, she added.
