Avoka’s son laid to rest

The mortal remains of Maxwell Amaliba Avoka, son of Mr Cletus Avoka, former Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Zebilla, were flown to Zebilla from Accra during the weekend for internment, amidst heavy security presence.

The late Avoka died on June 18 at the 37 Military Hospital at the age of 23.

He graduated as a Civil Engineer from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in June 2014.

Avoka was recruited into Ghana’s Military, and was under-going training when he collapsed during an activity at the Military Academy.

In a tribute read by his father on behalf of his family, he described his son as intelligent, hardworking, respectful and hospitable.

Mr Avoka recalled the fun moments the family had with him as a last born out of four children, saying he would forever be missed.

The funeral was attended by some Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives, as well as some government officials.
