Avoka returned unopposed to contest Zebilla seat again

Zebila (UE) Dec. 25, GNA – Mr Cletus Avoka, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Zebilla Constituency, is the only aspirant who has filed to contest the seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This means on January 21, 2012 when party delegates go to the polls to elect a candidate in the constituency, he would be endorsed unopposed by the delegates.

Speaking to the GNA at Zebila on Saturday, the Party’s Constituency Secretary, Mr Moses Abugre, explained that the party opened nomination for the primaries from November 24 to December 23.

According to him by the close of the scheduled date it was only Mr Avoka who had filed his papers, thus making him unopposed.
